Changing the odds for low income mothers in Louisiana.
Care That Changes Everything
Low income mothers across Louisiana face barriers in birth care that have nothing to do with their strength, their health, or their choices. In St. Landry Parish, the impact of those gaps is felt deeply.
Community Birth Companion was created to fill that gap with something powerful: community. Through doulas, childbirth education, and breastfeeding support, we surround mothers with knowledgeable, compassionate care rooted right here in Opelousas. When mothers are informed and supported, outcomes change.

2025 Angel Award Winter
Receiving the Angel Award from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation is a deep honor. This work is my calling, and I do not take that lightly. Every day I am grateful for the team that stands beside me, for the community that trusts us, and for the strength that keeps us going even when this work is hard. This recognition reminds me that we are on the right path. - Divine
